PORTLAND, Ore. - A new children's hospital is about to open in North Portland and the public is invited to come on down this weekend to check it out.

Construction on the Legacy Health hospital began back in 2009 and was completed last month. Here's some cool time lapse video of the work courtesy of Legacy Health:

On Saturday Feb. 11, there will be a community celebration to give folks a chance to see the new digs before everyone moves in.The party will run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and there will be lots of activities for the kids - a scavenger hunt, Lego Playzone, bike and snowboard sale and fittings, kite decorating, photo booth and much more. There will also be grand prize drawings for family trips.

Legacy Health paid for most of the costs. They also received a $10 million donation from the Robert D. and Marcia H. Randall Charitable Trust.
