PORTLAND, Ore. - Police are on the lookout for a burglar who broke into someone's home late Wednesday night.

The crime happened at a home in the 1300 block of North Rosa Parks Way.

According to police a neighbor saw the burglar leaving the house with property in hand and then fired a single shot in the air as the suspect took off on foot.

The suspect was initially described as a black male in his 20s with a medium build but police later narrowed that description to a 25-year-old light-complected black male who is tall but thin with a narrow waist and broad shoulders. His hair was shaved and he possibly had a light goatee. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with white stitching and brown pants.

Police brought in a K-9 cop but were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Dan Slauson at (503) 823-0400.
