It's 'Biddy Basketball' at the Salvation Army's community center | Parents & kids
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Now here's a great activity for the kids this winter - the Biddy Sports Basketball Program. Here's the info from the Salvation Army:
As the baseball bats and the soccer balls go back in the garage for the winter, out come the basketballs ready to make free-throws and 3-pointers. It is basketball season and with that comes the return of Biddy Basketball at The Salvation Army’s Moore Street Community & Worship Center, located at 5335 N. Williams Ave., Portland, OR 97217.
The Biddy Sports Basketball Program, which is in its 14th year, teaches the basic skills of life as well as the fundamentals of the sport. The program works on teamwork, self-control, cooperation, defense, dribbling, passing and shooting. Biddy also works with the parents, teachers and schools of the kids to ensure they are their best at school and home as well as athletics.
The deadline to sign your kids up for this program is November 18, 2009. Practices start the week of November 9th. For more information on how to sign your kid(s) up or how you can volunteer, contact Tim Fuqua at (503) 493-3925.
